About Humberto J. Rivas, MD
Humberto J. Rivas, MD is an experienced pediatrician who has been caring for children for more than 30 years. He completed his internship and pediatric residency at Rutgers University Hospital-Children's Hospital of New Jersey in 1992. After completing his training, Dr. Rivas practiced in Austin, Texas, for 13 years before relocating with his family to Gonzales 2006.
Dr. Rivas has extensive experience in both hospital and outpatient pediatric care, including the care of healthy and medically complex newborns, premature infants, children and adolescents through age 21. In addition to comprehensive pediatric care, his areas of particular interest include pediatric dermatology, asthma and allergies, infectious diseases, and the care of critically ill newborns and infants.

Routine checkups help your child stay healthy and support every stage of growth and development. We provide well-child visits, growth and developmental monitoring, immunizations, vision and hearing screening, routine physical exams, school and sports physicals, and ongoing primary care.
Sick Visits & Acute Care
Well-Child & Preventive Care
When your child is sick, we offer same-day appointments and weekday morning walk-in care for many common childhood illnesses and concerns, including ear infections, sore throats, flu, colds, fever, rashes and other acute symptoms.
Specialized Pediatric Care

In addition to routine pediatric care, Dr. Rivas has particular interests in pediatric dermatology, asthma and allergies, infectious diseases and the care of newborns and infants.
